When I first started digging into the handwriting exercise behind CopyHour (handwriting "proven" seven, eight, and nine figure sales letters in order to hard-wire their language & cadence into my brain) more than a decade ago, I discovered something strange…
Nearly every single one of those sales letters followed the exact same patterns. It didn’t matter how old or new they were. It’s like they were all following the same framework.
I now call it The 7 Figure Sales Writing Framework.
If you’re in CopyHour, this is the framework I use to teach because it clears away the noise and boils sales letter writing down to its bare essentials.
It’s the best combination of simple and profitable I’ve come across.
It’s just four simple elements and that’s it.
It also works better today than ever before. It’s not a coincidence that CopyHour students have collectively generated over $800mm with their copy.
The reason it works is because it’s built on sales fundamentals that worked 20, 50, 100, 1000 years ago – and will continue to work into the future.
The reason I bring this up is because there are 3 issues I see most frequently with entrepreneurs and freelancers struggling to write good copy:
- They write themselves in circles — spending months writing & tossing & rewriting the same letter without ever hitting "publish" because something just feels off to them.
- They get overwhelmed and don’t know where to begin — so they never write anything at all.
-
They can write copy just fine but their copy sucks — and makes no money at all.
And all 3 boil down to one thing:
They’ve complicated copywriting.
So this week I want to walk you step-by-step through writing a sales letter using The 7 Figure Sales Writing Framework.I’m going to show you how simple this really is.
(I’ve also personally always learned best by watching over someone else’s shoulder, so if you learn the same way, this will be a game changer for you.)
We’ll be using a fake product called The 5 Day Workday. It’s a (hypothetical) productivity course that shows entrepreneurs how to optimize their processes and easily fit their normal 5 day workweek into 1 day.
I chose this product because I can almost guarantee YOU are the target market for it. (If you tell me you don’t struggle with productivity, I don’t believe you.)
So it should be easy for you to follow along.
(And no, The 5 Day Workday doesn’t exist. Yet.)
We’ll begin tomorrow with the single most important step when writing any sales letter. Miss this (or do this wrong) and you’re screwed from the start.
This is going to be a LOT of fun 🙂
